IC Green ISBU Home 2400 sq ft

IC Green in California are producing a range of great shipping container homes.  The homes retain the look of the shipping container both outside and inside giving them an extremely modern feel but they also include environmentally aware features such as green roofs, solar water heating and electricity and low flush toilets.

They have already built a couple of units with more on the way.  Their designs range from 320 sq ft studio apartments to 2,400 sq ft family homes.  There is more information on their website.

Great to see a new post! My

Great to see a new post! My partner and I had just been discussing green-roofing our own future container, and it's even more exciting to see it in action. Now I think I'm going to try to convince myself that it's even possible to get away with a roof-top courtyard of sorts.

Welcome back!

I am madly in love with this

I am madly in love with this home: lovely on the outside, really didn't expect the green roof and it's fantastic - it is an absolute dream. I want to make a poster and tack it to my bedroom wall like some teenage girl would with a glistening vampire boy.

Of course, my ongoing problem is that the cost of a fantastic home like this may be totally manageable, but when you add in land- when you're kinda stuck in CA due to job/health benefits and bits more - it all ends in tears.

Regardless! It exists, and at very least I've something to aim for and daydream about - oh! And go on and on about endlessly to all my friends and in blogs and such. God that little sucker is adorable, so sharp.

Thank you to all!
